FRANZ'S TRAIL

Developed by Intrawest, Whistler's international ski resort company, Franz's Trail anchors Whistler's Creekside neighbourhood and the resort community's newest focal point for commercial and residential development. Trilogy was awarded the property management and leasing of Franz's Trail as a result of the company's long-standing presence and reputation within the Whistler commercial property market. As with Whistler's Marketplace a decade earlier, Franz's Trail has quickly established itself as a major vehicular-oriented shopping centre serving the southern neighbourhoods of Whistler and is a key component in Intrawest's re-development of Creekside at the southern base of Whistler Mountain.

In its role as property manager, one of Trilogy's major "early"tasks was to assist Intrawest in moving from the development and construction phase of Franz's Trail to the operations phase of a full-service shopping centre. Using experience honed at Marketplace, Trilogy developed a cooperative marketing program on behalf of the tenants, which coordinated advertising and special events thereby quickly establishing the centre within its trading area.

Using the relationships established with major international, national and regional tenants in its leasing role, Trilogy has added a mix of tenants to the centre that now includes Creekside Market (a locally-owned, full service grocery store), Scotia Bank, Starbucks, Subway and Can-Ski. With Franz's Trail now the responsibility of Trilogy, together with Whistler's Marketplace, Trilogy has succeeded in becoming Whistler's largest and most respected retail property manager.
